Oliver Musovik, born 1971 in Skopje, Macedonia, where he lives and works as an artist and independent curator. His works are famous for their sense of humor, and for bringing unspectacular details of everyday lives to the fore. Oliver is one of the notable fake-makers of the art scene, the founder of MPI/Macedonian Press International, whose only task is to issue fake press Ids for the convenience of its members – a project with which he has participated in a number of important international exhibitions.
With flags, Oliver Musovik plays with historical and imagined heraldic symbols and national icons to create a host of flags between fact and fiction, and raises the question of how national identifiers are constructed.
